The zipper closes. The valve removes air.
The white-valve bag uses a double-track zipper and a one-way valve. Close the full zipper before pumping. As air leaves through the valve, the flexible bag moves closer to its contents. When pumping stops, the valve insert returns against its sealing surface to limit air flowing back in.
Five steps to a sealed pack
These steps describe the standard white-valve bag. Follow the instructions for the pump and bag you receive.
- Fill the bag, leaving room to close the zipper and reach the valve.
- Keep both zipper tracks clean and dry. Slide the separate closure clip along the full opening two or three times.
- Rest the valve area on a hard, flat surface and place the matching pump squarely over it.
- Remove air while keeping the pump head against the valve. Use the operating and stopping instructions for that pump.
- Check the closure and store the pack under conditions appropriate for its contents. The white-valve bag does not need an additional heat seal.
A closure clip is a separate tool
The standard white-valve bag has no permanently attached slider. Its separate clip helps press both zipper tracks together and can be removed after use. The standard bag is flat with three sealed sides; it has no standing base.
If the bag takes air back in
Check the zipper for an unclosed section or trapped debris, then check the valve and pump contact area. Inspect the sealed edges and film for damage. Sharp contents need particular care. Finding the point where air enters is more useful than assuming the pump is the cause.
